Energy Audits:
Using the data collected during a home performance evaluation, you will be able to determine the most cost effective measures to take.
Commonwealth Building Sciences offers many services, including rating new homes for EnergyStar. Schedule an appointment today for:
1) Total Energy Analysis
2) Air Infiltration
3) Duct Leakage
BLOWER DOOR

Used to pull or push air in to a building at other than natural pressures. Calibrated sensor and guages measure the airflow across the fan to determine air leakage.
INFRARED CAMERA

This special camera allows us to "see" minute differences in temperature. It aids in locating problem areas such as hidden areas of air infiltration, missing insulation, high moisture content and HVAC duct leakage.
DUCT BLASTER

Used to test HVAC duct work for leakage.
Leaking ducts can spill conditioned air outside of the building envelope. This displaced air is replaced by dirty unconditioned air from outdoors.
After testing, air sealing combined with proper insulation provides the most cost effective solution to excessive energy consumption in buildings.
